For larger groups and more relaxed occasions, our canapé functions are designed around standing, social dining with a selection of Japanese-inspired bites, signature dishes and more substantial offerings throughout the event.

Our function calendar is more flexible than a fixed set of rules allows, so the honest answer is to tell us your date.
As a guide, canapé functions sit most comfortably during the day from Monday to Thursday, and in the evening from Sunday to Thursday, when your group has the main dining floor while the private rooms continue to host their own bookings. Friday and Saturday are our busiest services, but larger groups and exclusive-hire enquiries are considered on any date. We would far rather look at your request than turn it away.
Private rooms for two to twelve guests are available throughout our trading hours, seven days a week.

For the largest gatherings, the whole of Izakaya Miyazaki can be yours. Eighty-two seats, six private rooms and the main dining floor, all behind a single unmarked door in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Your guests descend the stairs beneath the lantern on Russell Street, and the restaurant belongs to your company alone.
Exclusive hire suits end-of-year celebrations, client entertaining and team gatherings that have outgrown a single room. Guests move freely between the dining floor and the private rooms, the yakitori counter works over binchotan charcoal in full view, and with our licence running until 1:00am the evening can unfold at its own pace.
Whole-venue bookings are quoted individually, because they depend on your date, your numbers and the shape of the evening you have in mind — canapés throughout, a seated menu, or something of both. Tell us what you are planning and we will put a proposal in front of you.
Seated Dining & Set Menus
For occasions where guests are seated and dining at their own pace, our set menus from $88pp offer an alternative to canapé-style functions.
Ideal for client dinners, business meetings and corporate gatherings, with private dining available for up to 12 guests.
Work Christmas Parties
December books up across the city, and the good dates go to whoever asks first. If you have a week in mind, it is worth telling us now.
Any of the canapé packages above works as a Christmas party, and private rooms are available for smaller teams of 2 to 12 guests. Unlimited sake or cocktails can be added to any package.
Five of our six private rooms have a yakiniku grill built into the table, so colleagues cook together rather than sitting through another set menu. It tends to be the part people remember.
